roof top terrace in the center of Lucerne
You are looking forward to spending a weekend in Lucerne? Great! In my view the best place to start on a Friday evening is the “Suit” bar. It’s has a roof top terrace with a fantastic view overseeing the town and the lake as well as the mountain panorama.
The place to be would the bar “suite”. It’s located in the “Neustadt” – the river Reuss splits the downtown area of Lucerne into the old part called “Altstadt” and a newer “Neustadt” (on the side of the train station). You get to the suit bar through the entrance of the Monopole hotel which is opposite to the train station next to McDonalds.
They offer freshly made cocktails. If the weather is warm enough you can enjoy the view from the roof top terrace. If the weather isn’t that great you go inside the bar with it’s domed roof and a panorama window which offers almost a similar impressive outlook. Sometimes there is live Music. Later you can move toward one of the many night clubs.
